I still follow down the trail he broke

Though our time together was too short

I knew he was my hero even before we ever spoke

He never knew my gratitude for his unwavering support

I’ll never forget the day he died his star burnt out

I raged and grieved over the unfairness of it all

To God above, His future was stolen I wanted to shout

Everyday is in his honor his names upon my wall

I wish he could see me now – I’m living my dream

Soon he will be an Uncle my kids will never meet

I’m about to get married my life going full steam

I will tell them all about him his memory I’ll never cheat
